I have a 1999 TC 33d with an 7308 loader. When I lift the bucket and leave it in a raised position it will bleed down. like 6 inches in a 30 minute peoriod. It doesn't matter if it is loaded or empty. Is this nomal or is there an ajustment that needs to be made at the controls?

John Deere says it is normal on their products and 6 inches in an hour would be well within their specs. ....

Six inches in 30 minutes seems excessive. If the hydraulic oil is close to a scheduled change, I'd change it and see if the leak-down improves. Changing my oil did seem to cure some minor problems on my tractor but leak-down wasn't one of them. If the loader is under warranty, I'd see if the dealer can do something.
You might disconnect the loader lines from the loader valve if quick connects are used. If it still leaks down then it's probably the cylinders. If it stops, it's probably in the valve assembly. Of course, that information isn't much good unless you're planning to fix it yourself or disassembly it and take components to a shop. The valve assembly is the likely culprit, but any repair is a pain and just putting up with it might be the solution.
Seems like loader valves either leak down when their fairly new or last forever. The tolerances between the lands and barrels are very close, and I'd guess that quality control in manufacturer is a bit loose. The acceptable specs from the various manufacturers probably are selected to fit the variation in manufacture so most production doesn't produce warranty jobs. Within specs or not, I'd find 6" an hour, let alone a 1/2-hour aggravating.

Your loader may be within specs as to the lowering rate, but we have changed valves for less and I would talk with your dealer. ....
